These beautiful maps by Ruth Hunter are colorized versions of the ones found in The Dragon and the Girl series.
True North Maps:
Twelve-year old Eliana lives with her family in the countryside of Morganshire, which is just north of the Dead Rise Cliffs. These aptly named cliffs drop to the Seething Sea. Just beyond Kings Road is the Great Forest. North of the forest are the Granite Hills and the Black Mountains.
Below is the floor plan of the main level of Morgan Castle. It shows the Grand Stairs leading down to the huge courtyard.
Below is the lower castle level with the courtyard and the Grand Stairs leading up to the main level. Do you see the dungeons? The soldiers’ quarters?
Below is the floor plan of the upper level of Morgan Castle. By now you may have realized that there is an opening in the central core of the castle that is open to the sky. From this view, we can see all the way down to the inner courtyard on the lowest level. Cook grows many of her herbs and vegetables there.
Lastly, here is a section view of the entire castle. Have you read The Dragon and the Girl: True North yet? If so, you know about the cavern below the dungeons.
True Treasure Maps
The events in True Treasure take us east from Morganshire to the great city of Cantington. Canting Castle is high on a prominence jutting into Cantington. Can you find where the Pearl River joins the waters of the bay?
Here is a close up of Canting Castle and the city of Cantington. Illustrator Ruth Hunter added the little dragon for fun. They are actually smaller than this in relation to the castle.
